Then rotate and offset the fault in the block on the right so that it matches the offset on the left. Answer the questions below, one at a time. Which way are the corners of the blocks offset? Is this fault dip-slip, strike-slip, or oblique? Did you conclude that this is an oblique fault? If you think of the offset as being partly up and down and partly lateral, is the lateral part left-lateral or right lateral? Did the back block move up or down relative to the front block? |
