Analysis 1 – Understanding Contours

In this analysis, you will learn how the squiggly lines on a topographic map shows the shape of the land surface.  With a topographic map, you can visualize the landscape, avoid steep areas on a hike, or determine what direction you would need to walk to find a particular stream.
