After an orebody is located, additional data must be gathered to determine whether an orebody can be mined economically. Activities include:

2) Further definition of the orebody.
3) Designing mine and mill facilities.
4) Evaluating transportation options to get products to
5) Estimating personnel staffing requirements.
6) Developing a cost profile for the orebody.
7) Determining the mining method (surface vs. underground).
