This page has links to the Biosphere 3D movies created by Julia Johnson and Stephen Reynolds, mostly using maps from the Atlas of the Biosphere (http://atlas.sage.wisc.edu/). These maps were draped on globes along with world topography (from the Etopo5 database) in Bryce 5. The list below has links to QuickTime movies of different factors, such as precipitation, annual temperature, and croplands. Caution -- All of the movies are 1 to 4 MB, so don't try to download these on a slow Internet connection.
All movies copyright Stephen J. Reynolds and Julia K. Johnson, 2002. Educational, non-commercial uses are permitted so long as the sources are cited. Most of the maps used to construct these movies came from the fabulous Atlas of the Biosphere website (http://atlas.sage.wisc.edu/), which has explanations of the factors depicted in our movies. We thank Jon Foley, Nicholas Olejniczak, and others of the Atlas project for their willingness to make their maps available. Check out their site!
