Module 4.

Ancient Volcanoes of Painted Canyon

Synopsis

The reconnaissance team has returned from a second trip, with a new collection of rocks from Painted Canyon. Some rocks are suspected to have formed from volcanic eruptions or from the solidification of magma at depth. You will learn how to classify and identify these new kinds of rocks by using reference samples. Then, you will examine the samples from Painted Canyon and identify them. Finally, you will locate where the samples were collected.
